This is a new edition of this dictionary which was first published in 1959. In the first part of that edition, headwords that commence with the vowels a, e, or, o, most of which are nominal, were alphabetically listed according to their second letter which constitutes the first consonant of their class prefix. In the present edition all headwords have been entered according to their first letter, whether or not this is a vowel.
