Rwanda’s Nyungwe National Park is a large montane forest covering 1000 km2 in the southeast of Rwanda. Visitors are guaranteed to be mesmerised by its spectacular natural beauty – endless mountain ranges covered by ancient trees, ferns and trailing creepers, gushing waterfalls and cool, reflective pools. Nyungwe is justly famous for its rich biodiversity: 13 species of primates and over 250 species of birds, more than 250 types of trees and shrubs and a huge number of flowering plants, including over 100 types of orchid and flowering Lobelia. This booklet is only an introduction to Nyungwe but, it is undoubtedly a useful guide for those intending to visit, as well as a worthy memento to help you keep memories of your visit to the park.
